“When you get one, you go for two. When you get two, you go for three—understand douchebag?”
Henrik Zetterberg had his second career hat trick and a finally-on-it Dominik Hasek stopped 19 shots for his 77th career shutout as the Detroit Red Wings posted a 5-0 victory over the Minnesota Wild. Zetterberg has been givin’ ‘er since opening night and has at least one point in 25 of Detroit’s 28 games for 21 goals and 40 points. In last night’s game, the uber-line of Zetterberg, Pavel Datsyuk and Tomas Holmstrom (how fucking hot are these guys? Datsyuk has 11 goals and 34 points; Holmstrom 13 goals and 27 points) controlled the puck whenever it was on the ice. Zetterberg staked Detroit to a 1-0 lead with 2:17 left in the opening period when he fired a rebound past Josh Harding. The Wings broke it open with three goals in 4 minutes in the second period. Zetterberg’ scored a shorthanded goal at 5:31 to make it 2-0 and later completed the hat trick 41 seconds into the third on a one-timer from the right circle. “When you have a chance [for a hat trick], you give it a little extra,” said the understated Swede. Wait, doesn’t this guy always have a chance for a hat trick? Ahhh… that explains it.
