It’s not about who has the bigger dick Gary…
…but who is a bigger dick. Or maybe who has bigger ideas. Environmental crusader David Suzuki and NHL commissioner Gary Bettman could be comparing their respective contributions to issues of global concern (or to improving the NHL for that matter). Or, they might just be signaling how much of the NHL Players Association’s attention they’ve each garnered. The NHLPA—at pains to enter into any kind of initiative with micro-idiot Bettman—jumped on the Suzuki green bandwagon Friday, announcing a partnership with the Vancouver-based David Suzuki Foundation that asks players to become more eco-friendly through personal choices at home (like beating their wives with the lights off, walking to and from bars) and in their working lives through the NHLPA Carbon Neutral Challenge—purchasing carbon-offset credits to compensate for the extra carbon produced by their extensive travels. Wait… aren’t those extensive travels the result of the NHL scheduling gnomes? So shouldn’t the NHL be purchasing those credits? Or at least Crosby picking up the tab? Oh, we forgot… Bettman’s culpability is only this big…

more eco-friendly through personal choices at home (like beating their wives with the lights off, walking to and from bars)-best sentence I’ve read all day
But if you’ll allow me a little rant time here, the idea of “carbon credits” ticks me off. It seems like a bribe, like they say “you can pollute but if you give us a little money we’ll forget this whole thing happened.”
